National Trails Day: Earth Manners and Trail Clean-up

Location of Mason Neck State Park in Virginia

Where

Mason Neck State Park, 7301 High Point Rd., Lorton, VA 22079.
Picnic Area

When

June 1, 2024. 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.

National Trails Days is a time to celebrate and care for our hometown trails. Here at Mason Neck State Park, our trails cross through the forest, meadows, and wetlands of the Chesapeake Bay Watershed, which has an abundance of natural resources that has been dramatically altered through human involvement and activity.

Examining these environment shows how humans use natural resources and that the choices we make impact the air, water, land and living things around us. Join a ranger to learn about these human impacts and what we can do at home and at the park to help protect our natural resources. Then, venture out on a hike to help reduce our impact on the trails with a park-wide trail clean-up!

The park ranger will have gloves and bags available and can direct you to various trails at our park.
