Open fires are prohibited throughout the park from midnight to 4 p.m. through April 30 per the 4 p.m. Burning Law. This includes wood and charcoal. Gas is permissible. Campground fires are allowed during the restricted time if a camp host is on duty and signage to that effect is posted in the campground. Failure to observe the 4 p.m. Burning Law can result in a fine. Contact the Park Office for additional information.

Clean the Bay Day

Join Kiptopeke State Park and the Chesapeake Bay Foundation for the 2024 Clean the Bay Day Event. In 2023 there were 4,566 volunteers that removed 117,298 lbs. of debris from 200 cleanup sites. 

Kiptopeke State Park will be hosting a beach cleanup in various locations around the park, to include South Beach, North Beach and the Fishing Pier.  This cleanup is appropriate for all ages. Please wear appropriate attire, bring water and sunscreen. 

Registration through the Chesapeake Bay Foundation will open in April.  Check back on their site in April to register yourself, your family or your group.  https://www.cbf.org/events/clean-the-bay-day/
